Walrus Islands Expeditions has provided safe, high quality guided natural history tours to hundreds of discriminating guests from around the world.

WIE has provided vessel support and guide services to film crews from National Geographic, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Discovery Channel, KTUU Anchorage, and several foreign broadcasting companies, to writers for several publications, and to the Alaska Dept. of Fish & Game and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.

Walrus Islands Expeditions is an ecotourism business, and adheres to the principles of ecologically sustainable travel.  WIE has long been a participating member of the Alaska Wilderness Recreation & Tourism Association.

About your host: Terry Johnson is a marine extension professor with the University of Alaska, a Coast Guard-licensed boat captain, a marine safety and survival instructor, and author of two books and hundreds of articles on Alaska fisheries, coasts, and marine wildlife.  He has been running commercial fishing and passenger boats in Alaska since 1978 and operating WIE since 1997.
